This guide helps you choose the right practicum sessions for your team. Each session addresses a specific challenge that locally-led Bible translation teams face. Not every team needs every session — use the checklists below to find the ones that matter most for YOUR team.
The goal of the Locally-Led Leaders Practicum is to build philosophical and emotional alignment to the principles of locally-led Bible translation — both within your team and between teams working together on a translation project.
Think of yourself as a guide on a journey — you know where the path leads, but the participants do the walking and the discovering. Your job is NOT to lecture. Practicum sessions are designed so that participants do most of the talking — in small group work and in sharing with the whole group. As guide, you:

If your team shows more struggles than strengths, that session is probably a good fit. You can also use tools like the Simplified Needs Analysis, Missional Translation Brief, or SWOT Analysis to help you decide.
