Note for Trainers: You do not want to use all of these questions. Pick 2–4 that best match what you focused on in your training. Think about your learners — their experience level, the time you had together, and which skills you most want to confirm they understood. If a learner struggles with a question, that is useful information — it shows you where more practice or training is needed. These questions are tools for YOU to measure your own training, not a test for your learners to pass or fail.

• Why should translators read book introductions and overviews before starting a new book? Explain how this helps your first draft.
• You are starting Titus. Describe the steps you will take before drafting verse 1, including which resources you will consult and how you will use each.
• A teammate says, “I translate faster alone.” How would you persuade them to work as a team? Explain the quality risks of solo work and the benefits of teamwork.
• Your group produced three different drafts of the same verse. Explain how you would compare them and decide on one draft. Name the criteria you would use.
• Explain the difference between form-based and meaning-based translation. How would that difference change one sentence in your language? Give a simple example.
• Your chapter sounds like three different voices. How would you make it sound like one voice? Describe concrete steps you would take as a team.
• A video resource includes ideas not taught directly in Scripture. How would you decide what to include or exclude in your draft? Explain your test or rule.
• Explain how you would create a visual summary of a Bible book with your team. Why does this improve consistency during drafting?
• Walk through the quality checks: self check, partner check, team check, community check. For each step, explain what you look for and how you record changes.
• Your team drafts non-consecutive verses (e.g., 1, 4, 7) across a chapter. How will you keep terminology, tone, and style consistent? Describe your coordination plan.
• Your team is new to translation. How would you use Open Bible Stories to build skills before Scripture? Describe the practice tasks and how you would evaluate them.
• You must teach a 30–60 minute session on drafting. State your learning goals, outline one active exercise, and explain how you will check if learners met the goals.
