What is this session about?
This advanced session builds on the Translations the Church Will Use - Principles for Translators training (where participants first discover the two qualities) and the Translations the Church Will Use - Principles for Church Leader Checkers training (where church leaders apply the framework to checking). Now, resource language teams go deeper — examining HOW to build quality into translation tools through the CANA principles, ULT/UST discovery, and drafting their own rules.
How does it work?
Participants recall the cardboard chair and their chosen vocabulary, then deepen their understanding by reviewing the CANA principles through a gallery walk, examining real translation tools (ULT and UST) through discovery activities, and drafting their own rules for creating translations that are both well-built and well-received.
What you need:
Pre-requisites: Participants should have completed Translations the Church Will Use - Principles for Translators (the introductory two-qualities training) and should already know that the ULT and UST exist.
